Andre Reid | Community Coordinator
Andre Reid is a Community Coordinator for the University of Pennsylvania Department of Emergency Medicine. Andre Reid has worked as an organizer and activist in urban communities for over a decade. He targeted the dismantling of structural racism in healthcare and universal rights of people who reside in underserved communities. Mr. Reid also worked for DBH/IDS(NIAC) Networks Improvement Accountability Collaborative, monitoring different funding streams that promoted the ongoing improvement of behavioral health with regards of quality care.
Andre Reid created Philadelphia National Alliance of Assisted Recovery in 2014 to advocate for expansion of MAT in diverse communities to help minorities whose conditions were ignored by the providers who service opiate addiction. Mr. Reid presently sits on the board of several community stakeholders and government organizations, and he works closely with the research community developing services that encompass dignity through treatment and healthcare.
Mr. Reid received his B.S. from Gwynedd Mercy University in Business Administration and Organizational Healthcare. And Certification in Alcohol Counseling and Substance Use Disorder from Pennsylvania State University.
Andre Reid’s addition to the University of Pennsylvania Urban Health Lab will allow him to continue his commitment to enhance the quality of life for individuals and families by strengthening communities with the resources that build lives and eliminate obstacles that have affected generational opportunities. With compassion and support he will continue to promote the socio-economic conditions that plant seeds of growth and generational success.
